back to the blog

Today I decided to get back to the ol' blog.  Then I decided to show it some lovin' and change it up a bit.

Now...hours later, I remember how much I hate trying to change my blog layout.  I need to focus on writing new posts only.. not upgrading the whole style.  I believe I'm done for the night.

In the meantime, while I was struggling with blogger..John was struggling with my newly locked iphone. Sorry son.  No more random phone calls for you - muahaha

birthday week

It's baby John's birthday week! His big day is Thursday, August 1st.  Holy cow, in just a few days I won't be able to call him BABY John anymore. It'll be ....TODDLER John.  Well, maybe not toddler John... that doesn't really flow well.  Little John? Nope, that name's taken.  Anyway, who cares (we'll figure that out later).  Right now we're too busy celebrating BIRTHDAY WEEK!

Yes, I'm so freaked out that my baby is about to be a year..that I'm creating a whole week of fun to keep my mind off of it.  Oh and of course, the week of fun is for toddler John too.

We started this fun week off with funfetti pancakes. --Notice that play on words.  I didn't even mean to do that..but now that I've noticed it, the dork in me finds it fitting.--

This was John's first funfetti experience, his first sprinkles, his first candle, and his first time eating on a grown-up plate.  I guess he was confused, because he reluctantly started eating it... like a dog.

He did finally figure out that using his hands would be more efficient.  And they were a delicious success!

I can't believe my little John Frederick is about to be one.  I'm so stinkin' excited for whats to come: running around with his cousins, throwing a baseball, FINALLY saying the word "mama", and all the excitement a toddler brings.  Yet, of course, at the same time I could sob all day for what's behind us: the tiny bundle that constantly fell asleep on my chest, his gummy toothless smiles, the baby smell...ugh, all of it.  I'll miss every second of him being a baby.  I have to stop.  I can't cry on funfetti Monday.  We'll save the crying for when he's a toddler.  For now, he's still my baby...my baby that's about to have the greatest birthday week everrr!

Spring is in the air!

I drove to Daphne this past Saturday morning for a great friend's bridal shower, and some of my own wedding planning 'to-dos'.  It rained almost all day Saturday.. with hail. Yet Sunday was so unbelievably beautiful!  My parents and I spent the whole day outside with the kiddos.  Seriously... gorgeous day.

Fair warning: this is very picture heavy.  You might need to take a bathroom break.

I am so in love with Spring weather and these 3 boys! You think this was a lot?  I literally took 457 pictures this day.  Of course, today is back to chilly weather... but this permanent Spring is just around the corner :)

First Hotel Stay

Okay, I'm a little nuts with the camera- but I really don't care.  I'm still learning my new camera and LOVE it, I'm a new mom, and a relatively new aunt.  Add all that up, and you get 1834 daily pictures- it's simple math.

We drove to Wisconsin a couple weeks ago and stayed in a hotel on the way up and on the way down.  It was Nolan's, Liam's, AND John's first time in a hotel... duh, take pictures.

John Frederick is a bit obsessed with iphones

probably an interesting conversation going on here

caught.

Nolan discovered how fun it is to slap Papa John's bald head

NOTE: All these pictures were taken during the hotel stay on the way UP to Wisconsin.  During the stay on the way back down- little John had an awesome fever of 102 and screamed from 11pm to 7am.  The hotel staff felt the need to inform us that they were getting complaints of a baby crying.  That seemed legit.  Ya know, since a baby crying in pain is completely controllable.  There were no pictures taken at this time.

6 & 7 Month Pictures...because I'm late like that.

My little babe is 7 months old.

During his 6 month pictures, I came to realize that blocks are fun for moving babies... and that these monthly pictures were going to be a lot harder to take.

This was still true when he turned 7 months.

He's just so darn cute eating the props... I don't even care that it takes me 2 hours to take his picture!
